The President, The Mud and The Prayer

Today we were planning on heading to Chadric to begin teaching.  We decided that two of the ladies would stay behind since the climb to the area was so difficult.  I also was not feeling 100% and was going to stay behind.  Upon making this decision and heading down stairs to see the team off, we were told by UN people and the local staff that the President was coming to Saint Marc and there was going to be demonstration about the lack of electricity in the area.  We were given the option of staying or going. I, Greg and Joey circled up to pray about it and felt like we should not go.   Ronald and Tompy (local 410Bridge Staff) went to the village to let them know we would not be coming.  Turns out the rains last night were very hard on the road and they were very treacherous and they were not able to get to the area but let the Town Council know and they got word to the kids.

There were not any protest and apparently The President did not come but God’s protection was with us in the fact that we did not even attempt the difficult and narrow drive up the mountain drive in that mud.  God’s wisdom and His ways are greater than ours.

The decision was made for Monday to be  a day of ministry in and around the hotel.  It was great and many of us meet new friends in the area and had the opportunity to pray for new friends, teach the kids that live in this area and renew our selves.  We came together as a group to pray for Chadric, the country of Haiti and the President.  It was a wonderful time.  We then began laying hands on each other and praying for each other’s needs.  It was the most perfect time of honesty, healing and growth for us all.  We all loved seeing how God used this time and it was not “time wasted”.

There has been no rain Monday in the area (a wonderful rainbow over the mountains did show up!!) and we are eating breakfast and heading up the mountain, to serve the people of Chadric.

Happy Tuesday!
